At a campaign rally in Albuquerque, John McCain called Barack Obama a liar.

While speaking at a campaign rally, McCain said “Sen. Obama has accused me of opposing regulation to avert this crisis. I guess he believes if a lie is big enough and repeated often enough it will be believed.”

Now that we have only one month before election day, the candidates are beginning to look for new ways to gain supporters. The easiest solution? For McCain it’s to call your opponent a liar. And for Obama? Well, let’s just say he likes to bring up the past and put it in the present.

After this weekend and all the attacks on Obama’s campaign by McCain, Obama sent out a 13-minute web video about McCain’s link to a financial scandal two decades ago. The video focused on his role in the Keating Five savings and loan disaster early in McCain’s career.

Obama is going to focus on this mishap for the rest of his campaign against McCain, saying McCain couldn’t handle a crisis 20 years ago, and he still can’t handle one now.

Just one more month to go before the American people get to see who their new President will be, which means one more month of this constant mudslinging. I hope it’s worth it.
